3. Nomination is $50 per animal per year. If nominating an animal that is a yearling or 2 yr old for the first time, you must pay the nomination fee for each year missed plus a penalty of $25 per year missed (eg. if you nominate a yearling for the first time the fee would be $50 for the current year , plus $75 for the year the animal was born = $125. If you nominate a 2 year old for the first time, the fee would be $50 for the current year plus $75 for the year the animal was a yearling plus $75 for the year the animal was a foal = $200.)

4. Awards will be determined with the highest points accumulated by the animal over their best 5 shows. Each animal will earn 1 point for completing the class, and 1 point for each horse that it beats in the class (only animals in the program count). 6. Qualifying shows are: Renfrew, Carp, Navan, Lindsay, Essa Canadian National Draft Horse Exhibition, RAWF, Rockton, Paris and Norfolk. Each of these shows has their own rules and regulations that must be followed. Not every show has the full list of All-Ontario Percheron Futurity classes.

7. Qualifying breeding classes are: Filly Foal, Male Foal, Yearling Filly, Yearling Male, 2 Yr Old Filly, 2 Yr Old Male. (note: Male means stallion or gelding - note rule #6).

8. To receive a payout, the animal must earn a minimum of one point.

The Pot

In order to help supplement this program, and get more breeders/exhibitors interested the OPHA will again this year sponsor this program. Each class will start out with a pot of $750. That is a sponsorship of up to $4,500 from the OPHA.

All of the entry fees paid go into a pot, which is then divided up and paid out to the winners at the end of the year. A portion of the entry fees from each year is held back from the pot, and carried over to the following year. Of the nomination fee for a foal, 5% is held back for the following year's pot, and 10% is held back for the pot in 2 years (eg. If a foal is entered for $50 in 2014, 5% will go toward the pot in 2015 and 10% will go towards the pot in 2016, leaving 85% of the entry fee for the 2014 pot). Of the entry for a yearling, 10% is held back to add to the pot for the following year. All penalties paid for late (eg missed years) entries, goes directly into the pot.
