The OPHA sponsored this program up to $4500 in 2014!

The Pot

In order to help supplement this program, and get more breeders/exhibitors interested the OPHA will again this year sponsor this program. Each class will start out with a pot of $750. That is a sponsorship of up to $4,500 from the OPHA for 2014.

All of the entry fees paid go into a pot, which is then divided up and paid out to the winners at the end of the year. A portion of the entry fees from each year is held back from the pot, and carried over to the following year. Of the nomination fee for a foal, 5% is held back for the following year's pot, and 10% is held back for the pot in 2 years (eg. If a foal is entered for $50 in 2014, 5% will go toward the pot in 2015 and 10% will go towards the pot in 2016, leaving 85% of the entry fee for the 2014 pot). Of the entry for a yearling, 10% is held back to add to the pot for the following year. All penalties paid for late (eg missed years) entries, goes directly into the pot.
